This website is a work-in-progress, dedicated to my SCA persona; Ayla von Drachenfels, a 16th century German noblewoman.

The SCA is short for "Society for Creative Anachronism", an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th century Europe. It consists of over 30,000 members whom are divided into 17 Kingdoms.

My mundame name is Capucine, and I originally became involved in the SCA back in 1989. I currently reside in the Shire du L'Ile du Dragon Dormant (Isle of the Sleeping Dragon), mundanely known as Montreal, Canada. Dragon Dormant is part of the Northern Shores region of the East Kingdom and is currently in the process of moving from Shire status to a full Barony, so we have lots of great events coming up during the next year!

My SCA interests include: garb-making, archery, calligraphy & illumination, banner-making, wine & mead-making, leather working & collecting cool feast gear.

Loosely translated "Drachenfels" means "Dragon's Rock" or "Rock of the dragons". Built around 1140 to protect the property of Archbishop Arnold of Köln; Schloss (Castle) Drachenfels overlooks the Rhine River near modern-day Königswinter. The castle was destroyed in 1634 during the Thirty Years War.
